New thing. New writing. When I started this blog I haphazardly did the Six Sentence Sunday challenge. Since that is now defunct I’m hopping onto the Weekend Writing Warriors challenge. I was late to the party (I’ll try not to be in the future) so I’m not a linked writer but here’s my submission below–8-10 sentences to get the party rolling. Also check out their twitter #8sunday

“Part of the promise of “Love” is that you get to do the choosing,” the pink haired woman said in between sips of brandy.
“Yeah, love. Right,” Jules replied, trying not to look around the room; desperately trying to keep her attention on the woman in front of her.
“No, not just love, like lower case “l”; Love the program in Second Life, it gives you the option to do the choosing.”
Jules sighed into her martini and watched the crowds ogle her artwork. She felt itchy whenever she had a showing. The crowds eyes like scarabs under skin as they judged her merit based on the thickness of her brushstrokes.
“I’m going to buy this piece,” the pink haired lady said to her companion; a gaunt ย bald ebony woman with a myriad of gold piercings, “it’s exquisite in all its horrific mess.
Jules agreed that the painting is horrific. She could still smell the blood she mixed in with the paint.
I like this line: “…they judged her merit based on the thickness of her brushstrokes.” And holy cow–that last line! What a grabber! ๐
